Dmitry (Dima) Bazbozhny, from the Maccabi Rishon LeZion Archery Club, represented Israel in the first stage of the Para Archery European Cup, held just days before the outbreak of the war.

Dima, who holds a permanent W1 classification, competed in the Men’s W1 category, which included 14 archers. He finished the qualification round in 10th place with a score of 570 points, and in the elimination round faced an opponent from South Korea, narrowly losing with a score of 124:119. Dima ultimately ranked 9th overall.

His participation was made possible thanks to a generous donation from the Jewish community in Rome, as well as the support of Mr. Eitan Tagar, head of the Rishon LeZion Archery Club, who helped raise the necessary funds for the trip.

Dima currently trains under coach Yehonatan Melamed and is also active in the competitive para-archery team run by the Israeli Archery Association and the Israel Sports Association for the Disabled, under the guidance of coach Yuri Yogev.
